Solid Drywall: back on the Peterborough map 8 days after launch
An award-winning GTA drywall crew moved to Peterborough and vanished from local search. Eight days after their new site went live, they were back in the local pack.
Solid Drywall had everything a contractor wants: 13+ years in the trade, three straight HomeStars Best of awards and a 4.9 rating. Then Danny and Shelley moved their main market from the GTA to Peterborough, and none of it followed them.
No website. Just an "under construction" page on their domain. A Peterborough search for drywall didn't show them at all.
Shelley reached out on September 14. The new site went live on September 24. Here's what's happened since.
The early wins
On October 2, eight days after launch, I searched again.
- "drywall contractor peterborough" on Google: their ad holds the top sponsored spot, and their Business Profile shows up 3rd in the local pack.
- "drywall peterborough" in Google Maps: they're in the results with 62 reviews at 4.8 stars, more reviews than any other listing on the page.

That's from invisible to the local pack in just over a week.
What got them there
Nothing fancy. Just the basics, done properly and all at once:
- A brand built for Peterborough. Same black and gold, same crew, a warmer voice for homeowners instead of Toronto trades.
- A real website on their own domain. Proof above the fold, a pricing page that answers "how much does drywall cost in Peterborough?", and a quote form that qualifies leads before Shelley ever picks up the phone.
- A rebuilt Google Business Profile. Right categories, service areas and services, plus a plan for asking for reviews.
- Tracking on every lead source. Form fills, calls, texts and even QR scans from the new truck wrap.
- A Google Ads campaign that put a $400 ad credit to work before it expired.
All of it was one fixed-price build. No monthly retainer, which was exactly what Shelley asked for.
The full breakdown, with the brand work, screenshots and timeline, is in the Solid Drywall case study.
What I'll be watching
Eight days is a good start, not a result. A spot in the local pack is only worth something if it turns into calls and quotes.
So I'll check back in 30 days, and report what's actually happened: where they rank, how many leads came through the form, phone and truck QR code, and what the ad credit produced. Good or bad, I'll share it here.
If you're a Peterborough contractor who's great at the work but hard to find on Google, that's the conversation I like having. Book a free 30-minute audit and I'll tell you what's holding you back.
